25 random things about me with hyperlinks....

1 I still remember how to speak Czech. I have learned how to understand (not speak) most Russian, and Slovak.
2 I’m moving to Scotland in September
3 I have only one kidney. When I was in kindergarten I used to tell girls that I lost it in Vietnam. (Thanks to M*A*S*H)
4 Most of my college was paid for because I’m “disabled” (See previous)
5 Have lived on an island with the population of 1 for an entire summer.
6 I HATE THE SNOW. I think it’s ugly, and terrible.
7 I can type over 100 words per minute.
8 I have a long standing goal of watching 8 hours of television a day or more… lately I haven’t been able to reach it, and I think I’m hurting my televisions feelings.
9 I hate driving. But I hate driving a stick even more! (My current car is a stick)
10 I have a geographical and fissured tongue.
11 Had a moth in my year for over a year… Subsequently I don’t hear very well.
12 I ate Chinese food everyday for 6 months, and never got tired of it.
13 I’ve been dating the television for over 20 years… and people say I’m afraid of commitment.
14 I do the same things at the same time everyday… 7am wake up, 1030 break, 12:30 lunch, 2:30 bathroom break, 4:30 leave. I don’t deviate, I park in the same spot, and I always walk the same path.
15 I don’t really get cold. Because where I went to school, it got so cold that 10 degrees was like a tropic holiday.
16 I have a scar over my left eye. My brother threw a rock at me while we were waiting for the bus.
17 I do not like reptiles, which leads me to think that I’m adopted.
18 I have never had jet lag. In fact, I think it’s made up.
19 Prague is my favorite city in the world, but I would rather live in London than Prague.
20 I’ve been denied entrance to many restaurants, trains, buildings, etc all because I’m American.
21 I never drink water on an empty stomach, and I never eat anything sweet until afternoon.
22 My favorite pop is 7-up. But I usually only drink it if it’s in Europe. The recipe is different and it is delicious! I think 7-up in the states tastes like crap.
23 Had a job where I only worked 5 minutes every hour, BUT, I had to be at work 18 hours a day, 7 days a week.
24 I like to move around a lot. I don’t like to stay in one place. So far I’ve lived in Alaska, Utah, Idaho, Portland, LA, Sacramento, All over the Czech Republic and KY all in the past 9 years.
25 My favorite book is “The Odyssey”, followed closely by “The Once and Future King
26 And one to grow on… My favorite monster is a vampire (whose isn’t?) but not because of those queer twilight vampires, but because they are the coolest monsters in the world. I mean, if you had to choose one monster to be, wouldn’t you choose a vampire? That’s what I thought.

This is one of the greatest years to watch TV!

I was talking to Lacey today on the phone and we were talking about television. We were talking about how many great shows there are on tv. And since i'm addicted to the television, I thought I would share with you, how many shows I watch. All of this information can be found on epguides which is my favorite website to find things to watch.

The weekly schedule will show just a sample of the tv that i watch. I watch much more than just this. I have lots of different tv shows on "DVD."

When i'm looking for new shows to watch, I'll try anything once (except for soap operas, and Crime scene dramas...) And i'm excited to hear about new BBC shows, because frankly, I get them, and I love them.

So here they are:

Sunday
King of the Hill
Family Guy
American Dad

Monday
Chuck
How I met your Mother
The Big Bang Theory
Gossip Girl
Heroes

Tuesday
Scrubs

Wednesday
Criminal Minds
ANTM
Project Runway

Thursday
Smallville
The Office
30 Rock
Kath and Kim
Ugly Betty

Nothing worthwhile is on Friday or Saturday.

Now here is a list of my Top 10 Favorite British Tv Shows.

#10 Echo Beach
#9 Moving Wallpaper
#8 Merlin
#7 Sarah Jane Chronicles
#6 Torchwood
#5 Coupling
#4 Demons
#3 Absolutely Fabulous
#2.5 The IT Crowd
#2 Gavin and Stacey
#1 Dr. Who?

While i know that i'm completely addicted to the TV, I also am able to substain a completley normal social life. I have friends, that i hang out with on a daily basis, I do things around Portland. But at the end of the day, my true passion is always waiting for me at home... My true love.

If you think i've left anything out of my list, write a comment, and i will explain to you why i Do or DO NOT watch that show. There is a reason i watch everyshow on this list.

Where is my Home? (Kde Domov Muj?)

Warning: This blog will use the "P" word many times. And if you are easily offended, or annoyed by the "P" word then you should leave now!!

I am sitting here at my computer, with a picture of charles bridge at dusk on my monitor. And i miss it. It has been almost a year since i've been back to the Czech Republic, and not a day has passed since i thought about it. Living there last year was one of the best decisions of my life. But i also know that i couldn't have stayed and been happy. So, i think i got out, while it was still fun and exciting, and left before it got to be boring, and monotonous.

Prague is beautiful. But Prague at night will steal your heart. I've walked around almost every major European city, some are amazing, but none compare to Prague at night. The cobble stone echoes through the silent streets, which are basked in this beautiful yellow orange light.

I remember on my last night there, i went on a Prague walk, and went throughout the entire castle area. Normally, i dont like going on a walk of the castle, due to the annoying tourists, but it was December 1st, and almost midnight. As i was walking through the castle gates, i walked to a wall, that overlooks the entire city. It is the most panaramic view of Prague. On my right, i see Petrin tower... (the Eifel tower knock off) and on my left, i see the giant horse everything is just glowing. It is at this point that i had to remind myself to breathe.

I know i talk about Prague alot. But i love it.

And i hope that one day, i will be able to show you all around, and have the perfect Prague walk!

I'm glad that i have that off my chest. I dont think that words alone can express how much i love that city. (Not the people, just the city... :) ) It truly is, an amazing place.

Croquet Championship

I recently got a chance to go home for a 2 week family reunion. As you can tell from this picture we spent a lot of time playing croquet.

For all of those who haven't played this simple game of croquet, it can get quite vicious. At one point we were all screaming at each other. The picture on the right doesn't really depict what it was really like.

First of all, lets talk about the conditions. It was super hot and muggy on the day of the championship. Secondly, we are dealing with people that have little to no people skills, and or smarts. Lastly, the worst part of the tournament was the bugs. I forgot how many bugs there are in Kentucky. Notice, that half of us are wearing pants, (to avoid the bug bites).

To make a long story short. My team got second place. Ben and Hope got 1st place, and Jason and Lincoln got last place.... (they used the strategy of might over mind, and would send the balls flying over the hill, which caused them to lose!)

To make a long story short, it was a great time, and even though we fought the entire time, I'm sure everyone else would agree with me, saying that it's the best time we've had in a decade.
